First Giveaway!

Posted by Angie at 8:49 AM
I am SO excited to announce our first giveaway!  Today is the first day you can enter to win one of Twirling Tree's Paper Bead Creations.

But first, I just have to tell you about the inspiring young lady who makes these bracelets.  Here is her story, as she tells it:

"Welcome to Twirling Trees! I am 13 years old and I learned how to make paper beads after my family and I went on a mission trip to Kenya. After seeing the great need and getting to love on orphans in Kenya, I am left wanting to do more. I started sponsoring a 2 year old boy that I fell in love with on our trip. The proceeds from my Etsy shop will go toward Georgie's monthly sponsorship. I hope to also raise enough funds to donate to several other organizations that provide orphan care.   Blessings!

Once our eyes are opened, we cannot pretend that we don't know what to do.
God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know and holds
us responsible to act. -Proverbs 24:12"

Now, if that just doesn't melt your heart, let me share with you this.  When I asked her if she would be willing to donate one of her beautiful bracelets for our giveaway, she and her mother responded that they not only were willing to donate one, but THREE!  And, to top that, our three winners get to PICK the bracelet that they would like from her site!  I cannot even tell you how blown away the Future Papa and I are.  Here are some of her amazing bracelets:

Each bead is made from recycled scrap paper, carefully hand-rolled and seal-coated twice.  The bracelets are stretchy, so they are comfortable and easy to put on.

To see the rest of her creations, click here!  As I said before...if you win, you get to PICK YOUR FAVORITE BRACELET and it will be delivered right to your door!

Here is how you can WIN:

1. If you write a blog, at the bottom of you next post write something about our blog and link up to us (  So simple!  No significant effort required!  Stumped as to what you want to say about us?  Ideas include:

*Have you heard about the newest mama whose adopting?  Click here to read her story?
*I'm entering to win one of these AWESOME bracelets!  And I think you should too ;-)

Be creative, be corny, be fun!!  Ha!  You can link to our blog as a whole, or to a specific post that you just really like.  Get creative!  Once you set up the link,  leave a comment on this post with the link to your post so that I can be sure to add your name into the bucket :-)

2. Perhaps you don't have a blog, but you have a facebook or a twitter or something like that.  Well, then broadcast our cause that way!  Or perhaps you comment on a lot of blogs and want to spread the word with a link there.  That works for me!  No matter how you do it, just leave me a comment letting me know how you are getting the word out, with some sort of proof!  Or, if you would prefer, you can also contact me via e-mail:

3.  Can you do more than one of these to up your chances of winning?  OF COURSE!!  Get creative and let me know what you are doing!

**if you read this post when it first published and are curious why the rules appeared to have changed, click here**

My motivation?  The way I figure it, the more people that know about our cause, the more likely we are going to stumble across someone who will feel led to donate to help us bring our baby home!  Plus, I love you fabulous readers, so if you can win something awesome in the process, it's a win/win, right?!

I will be announcing the three winners on Monday, January 24th, 2011 and also e-mailing the winners to find out their choice of bracelet and mailing address, so that they can receive their lovely gift.  That's two weeks!

We hope to have a lot of these fun little giveaways, varying in the size and kind of prize.  If you have any ideas for things you would love to have a chance to win, please let me know, and I will see if I can work my magic!

Much love,
Future Mama

P.S.  Complete side note:  I have mentioned before that the Future Papa and I live in the South.  Well, I can count the number of times I have seen snow on one hand.  Last night, we got more snow than I think I have EVER seen in my life!!  School is canceled, Future Papa's work is closed...and I'm off to go play in it!  Hopefully fabulous pictures to come :-)

*Legal note:  There is no fee or charge to participate in this giveaway.  Participation is free. You are under no obligation to make a contribution and you will not be barred from participation if you choose not to make a contribution.  Void where prohibited.  For more information or an alternative method of entry, send an e-mail to  Official Giveaway Rules can be found here
