Old songs, new meanings...

Posted by Angie at 7:30 AM
Isn't it funny how you can hear a song a million times, but in a different context, a totally new meaning emerges?  Exhibit A for today is Jordin Spark's "One Step at a Time."

What do you think, my readers who have adopted or are adopting, appropriate?  Right now, we are still taking steps to complete our home study.  So much paperwork!

Much love,
Future Mama

Definitely!  The song "All I want for Christmas is you" was  very meaningful when my husband was in Iraq and took on a completely different meaning this year waiting for a referral (which was a WONDERFUL Christmas present) and now waiting for our baby to come home.
Big hugs!

This is SO TRUE. Adoption really teaches you about letting go of control and patience. It SO important to enjoy life while you're waiting, I am learning. You'll never get that time back. God SO knows when, what, how, why, and where everything is supposed to happen.

OH, and I meant to say that this song is wonderful - especially the beginning.  Describes the adoption process so well! :)

A friend just posted her adoption theme song is "I just haven't met you yet". NEVER thought of it like that...but I LOVE it!

Agreed! Never heard this song before - you are right about this one.  So many I hear do that to me now.  I feel like a 16 yr old in puppy love and every song on the radio relates my daily life!
