Merry Christmas! There is a very good chance that you are in your first mommy's belly right now kicking and squirming about this holiday season. I hope you are having fun in there! Snuggle up, enjoy it, and grow healthy and strong for me. Or are you already born? There are going to be some tears in your future, some heartache, and some hardship that no baby should ever have to experience. But hang in there little one! She loves you and we love you. You are so loved by so many people already!
Right now, our house is glittering with holiday spirit. Your dad and I are going to make cookies today. Then we are going to watch a Christmas movie and snuggle on the couch. We will probably look up at the mantel, which has a rustic manger with a little baby, like you. Mommy will probably convince your dad to light a crackling fire in the fireplace. Your mama does not like cold weather, so she snuggles up close to it with a mug of hot chocolate on most nights. On the other side of the room we have a tree decorated with colorful ornaments, twinkling lights, and silvery tinsel. Your dad tells me that we are going to have to ditch the tinsel next year. He is afraid you might eat it if you are home and crawling around. He already thinks you will be a mischievous little one and has imagined so many adventures for the two of you. Are you going to be an adorable little troublemaker like him?
When Mommy does her Christmas shopping, she has trouble staying out of the baby aisles. She doesn't know whether to buy pink or blue, so she just ends up wanting to buy it all. Next year, we will hopefully know. Next year, we hope you are in our arms for Christmas. We want to wake you up in the morning with Christmas music and dance around the house in our pjs. We want you to play with your stocking and enjoy any snow flurries that might make their way down to the South. We want to talk about Jesus and fill the house with delicious smells from the kitchen. Mommy and Daddy are doing these things this year and can only imagine how much more fun it would be with you. We are so looking forward to becoming a family of three.
We do not know you yet, but we love you little baby! We want to wish you a Merry Christmas. We just couldn't let this season pass us by without letting you know that we love you, so much, and are so excited to meet you.
