After all the fun we had making dumplings, I'm surprised it took us so long to try something else! Recently we finally did...homemade Shrimp Fried Rice and Baked Crab Rangoon.
This is the recipe we used for the Shrimp Fried Rice. It turned out perfectly and tasted so good! I absolutely recommend this recipe.
We also tried to make a batch of baked crab rangoon. We used this recipe and just folded them differently. We also doubled the recipe because we had so many wonton skins, and used more imitation crab than called for because we had it. Unfortunately, the extra crab made them too "meaty" for my taste and not creamy enough. We were able to successfully freeze some of the extra and cook them another day, though, which was lovely!
Future Papa is already asking when we can make the shrimp fried rice again. He swears it is better than the takeout we get. I'm not convinced about that, but it is certainly comparable (and more affordable)!! It's so much fun to cook these dishes and imagine a little one enjoying them in the future...
