The Prayer of a Child

Posted by Angie at 7:14 AM
Towards the end of the worship service, our church invites the congregation to kneel and pray at the alter.  It's one of my favorite moments of the morning, to watch all the different people come up to pray.  We have never been a part of a church, prior to this one, where so many feel comfortable doing this.  It's beautiful.  Some come alone, some as a couple, some as a family.  Some come every week, some come rarely.  Sometimes, a child and parent kneel together, in smiles or, occasionally, in tears.  So simple, but so sweet.  I'll too go sometimes (by myself, as Future Papa is playing bass in the band just feet away) and say a little prayer.

Jesus, help me through this day,
In my work an in my play,
Both to love and to obey.
Amen
Much love,
Future Mama

Philippians 4:4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always.  I will say it again: Rejoice!  Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

so cool.  Our church does not do this.  I always love visiting churches that openly do though - it is amazing to watch.
